The Random Summer GOLF ESSENTIALS You’ll Actually Use

I put together a list of all the random things that I've found essential and most useful this summer!

  • Sun Sleeves. Honestly I think everyone should be wearing these. They keep you cooler and avoid sunburn. I start to panic now if I can’t find them before going out to play. I've been wearing this random bike brand.
  • Magnolia sunscreen. They sponsored the newsletter earlier this year and I’m glad they did. I had never had a nice face sunscreen before. Now I use it every day I’m going outside.
  • Stewart Golf Cart. I’m sucker for tech. Having an electric cart is awesome. It feels amazing strolling down the first fairway with your bag chasing behind you.
  • Imperial 5054. The best fitting and feeling hat out there. Especially if your like me and have a massive head that barely works with any hats.
  • Pinned Range finder. They sent this over and I’ve been using it all summer. It’s bright red so it’s hard to lose (although I’ve come close). Been consistent and easy to use. Plus it charges with USB C.
  • Big Ass Calendar. Hangs in my office across from my desk and I have all my tournaments up on the calendar in yellow. And put a check mark next to every day I golf and an x on days I workout. Visual way to see how I’m doing and have done. DO THIS!
  • Yoga on Youtube. I’ve started to crave doing some kind of breathing and movement before bed each day. It’s become a new routine. I’m just sampling different channels and Yoga with Adrienne has been the favorite.
  • Whoop. Tells me I need to sleep more and reminds me I’ve been sitting in my office all day not moving. On a quest to be healthy and ultimately hit 200 mph ball speed I need all the reminders I can get. I’m back on the Whoop train this summer and genuinely really enjoy it. My wife has also started wearing it which is fun to compare data and see how each of us is doing. Join the GolfWell team COMM-559288.
  • Ball Markers. I realized that I put all of my cool ball markers that I get when traveling in a bowl on my desk. I decided it's time to actually use cool souvenir's because it’s way more fun to remember trips and see these cool ball markers.
  • Phantom shoes. Look cool, tons of grip, and pretty comfortable. They’re so good on a particularly rainy and wet day I switched after 9 holes because I was worried I was tearing up the greens.
  • GPod Stick. You need feedback to practice. And video is a great way to do it. The GPOD has been in my bag and used to film my swing at almost every practice session this summer.
  • Love my custom GolfWell headcover from Cayce. THANK YOU 🙏

What did I miss, and what made it on your essentials that I should check out?

➡️ For some reason, this new putter just looks really interesting to me. The little aim data improving because of the onset is pretty interesting as well.

Today I want to share with you a course management strategy that has changed the way I think about golf. My good friend Will Robins created it over ten years ago, and I wish every golfer knew it! It breaks the game into two games that take double bogeys off your card and help you shoot lower scores immediately. Whether you’re trying to break 90 or push for 70, it works. We played three holes together so he could walk me (and you) through the system in real time. DON'T MISS THIS ONE! 🎥 Watch...

I've been trying to track my golf game pretty religiously this year. Making notes about my practice sessions and tournaments. Trying to make observations about my swing thoughts, patterns, and what I've been doing. I've been doing it in this app called Day One, which I use for all my daily journaling and logging, but it's getting cluttered and hard to sort through. Curious what you all do? I'd love to know. Hit reply and let me know. And then read on for the rest of this week's Golf Well...
