It starts with breaking each hole down into Two Games
Enter the Scoring Zone
Goal: Get inside 100 yards in two shots (par 4), three (par 5), or one (par 3).
If youβre inside 100, you earn a βοΈ.
Keep the ball in play at all costs.
Down in the Scoring Zone
Once in the zone, your job is to get on the green and two-putt.
βοΈ = bogey at worst. And you'll probably make some pars as well.
Think βconservative target, confident swing.β
β Here's the deal - If you can play 18 holes with only check marks, youβll eliminate doubles and shoot lower scores. It's a simple concept but hard to execute on.
One of our families best part of the summer was PGA Junior League.
I asked my course super last minute if my 7-year-old could join PGA Junior League and they said yes. Best decision Iβve made in golf as a parent.
The setup is simple: Each course has a team and they compete against other courses in matches. They play in two-person scramble teams for 9 holes with, three-hole matches, and flags to win.
The matches go quickly and everyone stays in a good mood with the scramble format.
Parents walk along, cheer, and actually enjoy it too.
My son looked forward to every match and came out a huge golf fan.
π¨βπ¨ It's crazy to me that a putter with hand drawn on alignment markings won the Tour Championship. Hey... Tommy found what he likes and it's working.

I put together a list of all the random things that I've found essential and most useful this summer! Sun Sleeves. Honestly I think everyone should be wearing these. They keep you cooler and avoid sunburn. I start to panic now if I canβt find them before going out to play. I've been wearing this random bike brand. Magnolia sunscreen. They sponsored the newsletter earlier this year and Iβm glad they did. I had never had a nice face sunscreen before. Now I use it every day Iβm going outside....
I've been trying to track my golf game pretty religiously this year. Making notes about my practice sessions and tournaments. Trying to make observations about my swing thoughts, patterns, and what I've been doing. I've been doing it in this app called Day One, which I use for all my daily journaling and logging, but it's getting cluttered and hard to sort through. Curious what you all do? I'd love to know. Hit reply and let me know. And then read on for the rest of this week's Golf Well...
