New podcast + A big regret!

New podcast this week along with my thoughts from a golf trip that I regret not taking sooner!!!

Have you tried armlock or broomstick style putting?!

I'm working on a series diving deep on alternative putting styles (armlock and broomstick)

I want to hear from anyone with a positive or negative experience.

Did you try armlock or broomstick and it totally revolutionized your game?

or... maybe it didn't help at all.

hit reply and let me know 😁

Liam Mucklow shares everything he learned after doing some extensive testing with grip pressure.

This Week’s Top Finds:

➑️ I have not seen a putter like this... What in the heck is this all about?!

πŸ§ͺ New golf research alert - Read it here

🍻 What a story. My gosh.

➑️ Some good details on wedge adjustments Rory is making.

First time at Sand Valley.

Just had my first visit to Sand Valley this past weekend. It's only 2 hours away from home and boy I'm disappointed in myself for not going sooner.

I’ve been to Bandon a couple times now, so it was weird feeling like you were there, but in the middle of Wisconsin.

It has all the same vibes.

Played Sand Valley with a friend and took the whole family out to the Sandbox so we could experience it as a family!

Few Sand Valley takes:

➑️ Plenty of interesting tee shots. Forcing you to choose to lay back into wide parts of fairway or trying to push it up and risk hitting into bunkers. At the same time you weren't ever really going to lose a golf ball which always makes it feel relaxed and not super stressful.

➑️ Oh the greens. Might have had more 3 putts than 2 putts (I did) and I wasn’t alone in the group. Fast and majorly sloped. Ball kept wanting to funnel away from the hole.

➑️ Sand was so soft and fine. Like powdered sugar. Obviously chunked the bunker shots I attempted πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ. Very different than I would have guessed.

➑️ It has β€œthe sound” when you drop your iron on the fairway. You know the one.

➑️ The uphill par 3 8th was pretty cool.

➑️ The Sandbox was legit awesome.

Now before you think about bringing your 3 boys under the age of 7 along... Consider you'll spend most of your time caddying, raking bunkers, and convincing everyone they're doing a great job and keep going πŸ˜‚

It's totally worth it though!

➑️ Love the template holes and how they included on the scorecard which ones they were. Fun convo's with the 7 year old about what we were playing and where it came from.

➑️ Everyone was a huge fan of the $1 tacos and ice cream sandwiches. We might have made a stop up to Craig's Porch a couple times to partake.

So, what's the analysis? I have to get back to Sand Valley!

I really want to play the other courses.

Incredible spot, great experience. Definitely doesn't feel like your in Wisconsin anymore.

But I'll be honest, I can't wait to get to Bandon this December. I don't know if that spot can be matched or rivaled. 😬😬

Chipping convo with Dr Luke Benoit

I was up at Interlachen CC with Dr Luke a little bit ago and we talked chipping and chipping drills. Fun chat on some technique changes you might want to make.

Today I want to share with you a course management strategy that has changed the way I think about golf. My good friend Will Robins created it over ten years ago, and I wish every golfer knew it! It breaks the game into two games that take double bogeys off your card and help you shoot lower scores immediately. Whether you’re trying to break 90 or push for 70, it works. We played three holes together so he could walk me (and you) through the system in real time. DON'T MISS THIS ONE! πŸŽ₯ Watch...

I put together a list of all the random things that I've found essential and most useful this summer! Sun Sleeves. Honestly I think everyone should be wearing these. They keep you cooler and avoid sunburn. I start to panic now if I can’t find them before going out to play. I've been wearing this random bike brand. Magnolia sunscreen. They sponsored the newsletter earlier this year and I’m glad they did. I had never had a nice face sunscreen before. Now I use it every day I’m going outside....
