Whens the last time you thought about breathing?

Rory mentioned this book in a podcast I broke down a couple weeks ago. Honestly it's been a crazy read. I had never heard most of these concepts.

"The smaller and less efficient lungs became, the quicker subjects got sick and died...larger lungs equaled longer lives.

"Our ability to breathe full breaths according to researchers, appears to be literally a measure of living capacity"

I'm halfway through and I think it's going on my recommendation list.

How Alex Fitzpatrick Fixed His Wedges

Alex struggled with getting his wedges to hit and stop on greens.

β€œI have a bad habit of chicken winging my left elbow,” he said. β€œThat makes a 60-degree turn into like a 45.”

The ball would launch too low and it wouldn’t stop on the green.

So, with the help of his coach Mark Blackburn and a GC Quad, he dug in. They started tracking three numbers: swing speed, dynamic loft, and carry distance. That’s when the problem became clear.

β€œEven if my speed was good every time, my dynamic loft was changing so much. I had no control of how far the ball was going to go.”

Alex started charting every shot. He built a system around four clear swing positions.

For each, he tracked how fast he swung, what dynamic loft he delivered, and how far the ball went. And he stopped guessing.

β€œSo I’m trying to hit a hand-to-shoulder 56. Speed should be 66, loft should be about 42. That should go 83.”

The swing came in at 66 mph, 44 degrees of loft, and went 81 yards.

β€œTwo yards short, because the dynamic loft was too high. But I know why.”

And that’s the shift... from guessing to understanding. From low spinners that run through the green to controlled flights that hold their number.

Alex shares so much more in the latest vid. Check it out!

⛳️ I use a Skytrak in my family room at least a few times a week. The software has always been it's strongest feature. Honestly it's fantastic.

The addition of course play in the app was huge.

And they just released the details...

The original courses were from Trackman and they just doubled the catalog with Foresight courses.

If you want to get better you have to practice.

3 wood off the tee sucks. I know a bunch of you probably relate to that. I do! So I was curious when I saw this video from Neal Shipley about his 12 degree "thriver". I had to learn more. I was able to have a great chat with Marty Jertsen, VP Fitting & Performance at Ping all about it. It's such an interesting concept. PLUS this means the PODCAST IS BACK. I've been hearing you all loved the old Golf Science Lab show. So it's coming back. This is the first episode of many to come. Today at a...
