If you're not subscribed on Youtube today is your day. You won't want to miss next week where Luke shows us how to transfer the new swing thought to the course and his CONTROVERSIAL thoughts on shot shape. All that going live next week on Youtube!
Today at a Glance
From 157th to 5th in putting!
Wrist Lock Grips.
Best golf video you'll watch this year.
Crazy Pat Perez swing speed.
THE KICKSTAND DRILL (will help you shallow your swing)
Minjee Lee won last week's KPMG Women's PGA with a broomstick putter, and while I'd heard she was improving, I was absolutely shocked when I dug into just how much better she'd gotten.
Golf Digest: The change to the Odyssey Ai One Square 2 Square #7 Broomstick putter has paid off. What prompted the change and how big of an adjustment was it for you?
Minjee Lee: [My coach] Ritchie [Smith] mentioned it to me, and I started mucking around with it. I’ve changed a few times over the years, tried left-hand low and some other things. It wasn’t a big adjustment at all. This was just a way to take the hands out of it, get more comfortable with my right hand, and just rock the shoulders. Now that I can sit down and think about it, it's a pretty simple way of putting. I was just overthinking things too much.
I also noticed Keegan Bradley was using a unique putter grip to win the Travelers. I had tried this out a few years ago when Superstroke released it but hadn't realized it was still being used.
The Wrist Lock.
It's a really interesting grip and when you get a putter properly set up for it I could imagine it's really effective.
🏆 This week on the Normal Sport Newsletter, Kyle talked about this Guinness World Record for most holes played in a day. I followed along on Instagram the rest of the day. Absolutely nuts stuff going on. 810 golf holes played
🎥 Jim McLean posted a video on Instagram of Pat Perez swinging at 136 miles per hour. Definitely not the short, compact swing we got used to seeing on tour. Interesting.
The breakdown of this weeks drill:
In this week's video with Luke, he showed me the kickstand drill to help me... slow down the shoulders, get a little shallower, handle lower at impact, and reduce the amount of flip that I have in the swing
Set up with trail foot dropped back and on toes (kickstand stance)
Put most of your weight into the lead toe with lead heel slightly raised
Keep chest quiet and stable, don’t over-rotate
Make a backswing with balance
In transition, push off the lead toe and throw the club early
Let arms release the club, handle drops low and left
Keep arms close to the body through impact
Use video or mirror to check for shallow shaft and low handle exit
Start with no ball, then foam balls, then slow real swings
Keep chest down through impact to avoid thin shots
Hopefully watching through this lesson helped you with some ideas on your golf game.
I'm pumped to share next week's video about shot shape and transfer practice. You're going to get a ton out of it.
Thanks as always to Dr Luke Benoit for sharing some awesome ideas with us!
Till next time,
-Cordie

I've been trying to track my golf game pretty religiously this year. Making notes about my practice sessions and tournaments. Trying to make observations about my swing thoughts, patterns, and what I've been doing. I've been doing it in this app called Day One, which I use for all my daily journaling and logging, but it's getting cluttered and hard to sort through. Curious what you all do? I'd love to know. Hit reply and let me know. And then read on for the rest of this week's Golf Well...
